Dishes are done man.

This was amazing.  And done in less than 15 minutes.

The cast:

  • Grass fed sirloin strip, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • Spot prawns, shelled; no seasoning necessary
  • Asparagus, cooked in butter, olive oil, minced garlic and white wine with salt & pepper

Start by seasoning the cast iron pan.  We’ve got a fancy one that leaves grill marks.  I call it a grill pan.  I’m making it up.  Rub with olive oil, then turn on the heat.  Screaming hot.  Oil will start to smoke.

While the grill pan is heating, in a skillet, melt butter and olive oil, and add garlic.  Swirl around and season with salt and pepper.

Meanwhile, add the steak to the grill pan.

Then add the asparagus to the garlic mess.  Stir it around, then add some white wine.

At about 3 minutes, turn the steak, then throw the spot prawns in the grill pan.

Cover the asparagus to let it steam.

About 3 minutes later, turn everything off.  Plate the prawns, then the asparagus and drizzle garlic-butter-wine mess.  Slice the steak, plate, then drizzle the oozed out meat juices.

Voi-effing-la.  I almost cussed.  That was so good.
